A month of making

A busy month. On November 4th we headed to Blurton and the local retro ABC cinema that the Jones’ built in their own back garden! Our Standon and Cotes Heath WI was up in lights! The cinema was very cosy and we all enjoyed the film ‘Finding your Feet’, eating pop corn and chocolates. Andy and Jane Jones could not have made us more welcome. Great value for money and a trip down memory lane to make new memories.

Our Craft Club and wider members have been busy creating poppies – knitted, crocheted and crafted from re-cycled bottles – these have been placed in and around

All Saints Church. They made a poignant backdrop to commemorate all who serve and have served to defend our way of life. The Garden Club have been planting up the planters outside the village hall – take a look! Members also made cakes and 'womanned' the WI stall at the annual Standon and Cotes Heath Community Autumn Fayre. The book club is meeting this week to discuss 'The Duke, his Secret Wife and the Missing Corpse' by Pui Marie Eatwell and we are looking forward to getting together to make decorations for the Christmas Tree Festival at our next meeting. Why not come along!
