Well, it has been an exciting month for our WI with lots of opportunities to be outdoors and get active. It began with a lovely Lunch Club meeting at the Tickled Trout at Loynton – a bit too chilly to sit outside but plenty of sunshine. The Walking Group followed this with an exciting, circular walk from Loynton Moss, stopping at the canal side café at Norbury Junction for an 'al fresco' lunch, before walking along the canal back to complete the walk.
Our April meeting was Every Second Counts which gave us and our wider community top tips on how to be ready to tackle a medical emergency. This included how to carry out CardioPulmonary Resuscitation and how to use the Defibrillator. At the May meeting, members had so much fun learning British Sign Language to sign and sing.
At book Club, Sophie Kinsella’s book provided lively discussion. Everyone is looking forward to reading our next book set in Nigeria.
The newly formed Garden Club had its first meeting with everyone sharing great ideas. The club has already had its first inspiring garden visit to a local woodland garden.
We are now planning our Pre-Loved clothes, toys and books fund-raiser sale on 12th July. Save the date! Any donations will be gratefully received.
